Mayweather Not Happy With Some Boxers Of Today’s Times

Mayweather not happy

Floyd Mayweather not happy with some of the modern day professional boxers he has come across nowadays for a number of reasons.

Floyd Mayweather is set to face UFC star Conor McGregor in a boxing match later this year. We reported that McGregor has applied for his boxing license in Nevada yesterday.

Mayweather is also on promotional duties these days for his company Mayweather Promotions too.

This weekend he’s in the UK supporting one of his world champions Gervonta Davis and took issue in particular with some fighters wanting more than they are worth in his opinion.

Speaking in a media scrum Mayweather said:

“At the end of the day I tell these fighters this – we don’t take sides. We don’t say we like this fighter better than we like this fighter. You go out there, you win – you get the same treatment. These fighters in today’s times want Mayweather Promotions – I need an advance, I need an advance, I need an advance.”

He added:

“F*** coming to us getting an advance. Go out there and win. If you can’t, go out there and get a 9 to 5. I’m okay, I’m comfortable because I made smart investments. But one thing we’re not going to do is keep giving these fighters advances if these fighters keep going out there performing like D plus fighters.”

No doubt Mayweather is still learning the promoter game is very different from that of being an active fighter at the moment.

It’s a job he’s as qualified to do as anyone though, surely, considering he owns quite a few records in boxing when it comes to drumming up interest in big fights.
