Tony Bellew reveals behind the scenes talks that have taken place for a potential heavyweight showdown with Tyson Fury.

A potential Tyson Fury and Tony Bellew heavyweight showdown a few months ago would have virtually been impossible to see coming.

Bellew was a massive underdog going into the David Haye fight and Fury was still out in the wilderness following a torrid 2016.

Fast forward a few short months and Fury is back in social media and online trolling overdrive. Bellew shocked the boxing establishment to beat David Haye.

Bellew since his big win has had all sorts of names linked with him. From the likes of WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder to now it appears, Tyson Fury.

The past have exchanged words with one another in the media but there seems to be a prevailing feeling of respect between both men.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror – Bellew was quoted as saying:

“We’ve had talks. Since I took Haye’s scalp, we’ve had talks with Fury’s people.”

Bellew looks as happy as ever being a heavyweight.

Not having to worry about cutting weight and being able to eat whatever you want must be a nice feeling as a professional fighter.

Of course Fury has too enjoyed this bonus in recent months. If Fury were to comeback, perhaps a fight with Bellew would make a lot of sense for both boxers for a lot of reasons.

Here’s a quick look back at a message Tyson Fury once had for Tony Bellew:
