Conor McGregor Coach Not Fond Of Mayweather To Put It Lightly

Conor McGregor Coach

Conor McGregor coach John Kavanagh is not boxer Floyd Mayweather’s biggest fan. To put it mildly. He has had strong words for him.

Conor McGregor coach John Kavanagh is highly respected in his native country of Ireland. For good reason.

He helped get mixed martial arts on the map there as a sport. Not to mention the fact he helped Conor McGregor propel to the highest level in MMA.

McGregor updated fans today here saying an announcement of his next fight is expected soon. Most think it will be a boxing match against Floyd Mayweather.

At long last.

If it is, perhaps some of the early verbal shots from the trainers involved have been fired. Speaking to Complex.com Conor McGregor coach Kavanagh said of Mayweather:

“I do think Floyd Mayweather is pretty much a dirtbag.”

He added:

“He’s beat up his girlfriends.”

Coach Kavanagh was complimentary on Mayweather’s boxing accomplishments however. He admires his ability in the ring. As a person he’s not too fond of him though.

As the above clearly shows.

Mayweather’s coach for his last professional boxing match was his father Floyd senior. That was back in 2015 against Andre Berto at this stage.

He also used his uncle Roger Mayweather for some pad work but it was Floyd senior in his corner on the night.

Expect Mayweather senior to retort in some regards through the media regarding the above. If the fight gets announced soon, that is.

Mayweather senior has already criticised McGregor’s boxing ability and relishes the limelight himself.

Conor McGregor coach John Kavanagh could be in for a bit of a verbal battle with him. Mayweather senior is not exactly shy about voicing his opinion either.

Another potential part of the whole Mayweather vs McGregor hype carnival that it’s shaping up to be.
