Lightweight Romero Duno Detonates This Right Hand Bomb To Score Christian Gonzalez KO

Filipino Romero Duno progressed his professional boxing record to 13-1 (12KO) in some fashion this past Friday night, and reminded everyone of his one punch knockout power.

None more so than his previously unbeaten (16-1-14KO) opponent Christian Gonzalez – whom he also took the undefeated record of.

The win gave Duno the vacant WBC Youth Intercontinental lightweight title. The 21 year old continues to impress since bouncing back from a unanimous decision defeat to Mikhail Alexeev in May 2016.

Since then including last night, Romero Duno has put together a string of 4 wins on the trot. Three of which have come by way of stoppage.

It was his first fight in the US last night since turning pro.

Before that he had primarily campaigned in his native Philippines, outside of one fight in Russia. Perhaps a new emerging star in the lightweight division might have been uncovered on the American boxing circuit last night.

Here’s how Romero Duno earned his win and ultimately, how he closed the show with a rocket of a right hand (towards the end of the full fight video below):
