The retired former pound for pound number one boxer has been living it up all weekend during his 40th birthday celebrations.
It doesn’t seem that long ago that this boxing writer was a young fan growing up watching Mayweather come through the ranks as a young pro on TV.
Now he’s 40 years old and it looks like he’s done for good as an active fighter, unless that fight ( Conor McGregor) comes to fruition in 2017.
He turned 40 last Friday and has hit California for the weekend among some lavish celebrations that have seen some of the boxing media tag along.
Of course, there was some boxing action involved for his birthday weekend too, when his company Mayweather Promotions put on a Showtime card on Friday night.
He’s pulled out all the stops on Saturday night though, even hiring singer Mariah Carey to personally wish him a happy birthday.
Can’t knock his taste. Fair play, Mayweather!

Apparently Mariah Carey was just off of an 18 hour flight before she sang happy birthday to the former boxing champion.
Hey, I guess they don’t call him ‘Money’ for nothing.
No doubt these celebrations didn’t come cheap this weekend.
