Anthony Joshua on Tyson Fury Comeback and Open To Hughie Fury Fight

As the heavyweight landscape begins to transition into a new time with belts flying around left, right and centre, new challengers emerging and current champions looking to unify, many have already forgotten about the former lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Boxing is a fickle game where one minute a fighter is on top of the world, world champion, the next they can find themselves at the bottom of the ocean.

Tyson Fury has had this feeling in recent times after been forced to give up his heavyweight titles to focus on his recovery from mental health issues.

One man who has not forgotten about him however is one of closest rivals in boxing today – IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

Speaking to Kugan Cassius of IFL TV, Anthony Joshua on Tyson Fury comeback and more:

“Tyson Fury is quite disrespectful towards me but I’m not going to fall into that category. So Tyson, keep on enjoying yourself. I don’t know how you are living or what you are up to, but it would be great to see him back in the ring soon and make headlines for what he’s good at. And the same with Hughie Fury it would be good to see him back in the ring. If it is a competition he would like to take upon himself it would be something we are interested in no problem.”

A Joshua fight against either Fury (Hughie or Tyson) would be something that would intrigue not just UK boxing fans but plenty of fight fans around the world.

It is thought that Tyson could be back in the ring as early as next April but it is unclear yet who it will be against or when exactly it will be.

Pending on how long his recovery takes.

One option for Tyson Fury initially would be to have a shot as the mandatory challenger at the winner of a fight for one of the belts he vacated recently.

A fight against the winner between Joseph Parker and Andy Ruiz Jr who fight for the WBO heavyweight title before the end of 2016.
