Wilder Joshua Who Wins? An Inevitable USA vs UK Heavyweight Collision

Wilder Joshua who wins? Perhaps a tough question to answer, but an intriguing one nonetheless. With Tyson Fury currently set to sit out for a while from the sport of boxing, these two undefeated heavyweight champions could be poised for a unification showdown in 2017.

After over a decade atop the division, Wladimir Klitschko surrendered his WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO, The Ring, and lineal titles in an upset decision loss to Tyson Fury last November – with Fury scoring a genuinely historic win.

Since then, the two have been scheduled to rematch twice with the bout falling through on both occasions. Most recently, Fury withdrew from the bout due to personal reasons as well as the fact that he’s failed multiple drug tests for cocaine.

Because of this, he may be stripped of his titles.

With Fury’s fighting future unclear, a potential bout between Klitschko and reigning IBF champion Anthony Joshua has been discussed for December, and the fight is apparently close to being finalised, although it’s not a done deal as of now.

While that fight is undoubtedly a big fight for the division, let’s take a look at another potential fantasy fight that could draw immense interest to boxing’s most legendary weight class: a clash between the 26-year-old Joshua and current WBC champion Deontay Wilder.

Both men are relatively young in age and have risen to fame in recent times. In fact, both men are undefeated in their professional careers, although Wilder is the more experienced fighter.

Joshua currently holds a perfect 17-0 record, while Wilder possesses an impressive 37-0 record to date. Joshua has knocked out all 17 of his opponents, while Wilder has finished all but one of his adversaries.

Most recently, Wilder scored an eighth round knockout over Chris Arreola last July in Alabama. Joshua, on the other hand, is coming off of a seventh round TKO win over Dominic Breazeale last June in England.

Given that both men are title holders in the primes of their respective careers, there seems to be no better time than now to make the fight happen.

Aside from that, the bout also serves as an exciting one from a stylistic standpoint.

Both men obviously possess legitimate power, and they are fairly even in size as well with Wilder standing at 6’7”, and Joshua standing at 6’6”.

Wilder, also known as “The Bronze Bomber”, is an elite level athlete who typically uses his jab to establish his range before inflicting his power.

With a 97.2% knockout ratio, he also owns an incredible 17 first round knockout victories to his credit.

Joshua, on the other hand, clearly possesses power of his own, although he has appeared to struggle against opponents who move well which could be a problem for him if he ever meets Wilder.

Who you would you expect to come out on top if these two heavyweight titans were to meet – Wilder Joshua who wins?

Although it might not happen until 2017, this is a fight that could really bring back the old American vs UK heavyweight boxing rivalry on the grand stage.

Two men destined for what will inevitably be an explosive and exciting showdown in the ring.
