Terence Crawford proved beyond shadow of a doubt that he is the best super-lightweight in the world with a dominant unanimous points victory over previously unbeaten and former WBC champion Viktor Postol.
Terence Crawford known as ‘Bud’ won in impressive fashion over what was on paper at least, meant to be his toughest opponent to date.
The final scorecards in a fight that included two knockdowns in the 5th round for Crawford suggest otherwise for the Omaha native however:

The bout got off to an easy pace as both men looked to figure each other’s styles out, but by the fourth round of the bout it was clear that Crawford was winning the early chess match.
The fifth round is when the fight really came to life when Crawford landed two excellent left hands in the round that forced Postol to take a knee on both occasions.
As the bout continued into the second half – so did Crawford’s dominance.
It was clear from the cleanness of both left and right hands he was landing, that he was by far the superior boxer of the two.
The 11th round saw a frustrated Postol resort to hitting Crawford behind the back of the head which cost him a point but ultimately was not enough to take Terence Crawford out of his rhythm, who finished with a solid final round and his hand raised.
After such an assured performance there is no doubt that many will now put Crawford much higher on the mythical pound for pound list in boxing.
At 28 years of age and in the prime of his career, it’s hard to see anyone getting anywhere near him at 140lbs, perhaps ‘Bud’ will now look to win a world title in a third weight class next.
Opposing trainer Freddie Roach’s bet of Viktor Postol to win by a knockout on the night proved to be significantly wide of the mark.
The win improved Crawford’s record to 29-0 (20KO) and puts him line for some seriously big fights in the future, one of which might come against his fellow promotional stable Top Rank’s Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao.
