As reported by Mike Coppinger of Boxing Junkie, one of the tastiest match ups in all of the sweet science (that can be made) has been added to what already is headlined by a sensational middleweight title clash between Gennady Golovkin and David Lemieux on October 17th, at Madison Square Garden.

The news that Brian Viloria will take on flyweight kingpin Roman Gonzalez has got hungry hardcore boxing fans salivating – and rightly so.

Gonzalez is a man who has forced his way into the top 10 pound for pound boxers on Earth in the vast majority of reputable boxing outlet’s eyes, through out and out credibility and top notch, consistently brilliant performances.

The carnage that he has left in his wake to amass his 43-0 (37KO) record and WBC championship has been breathtaking.

He just hasn’t quite yet gotten the exposure necessary to translate his phenomenal talent to mainstream sports fans, and indeed casual boxing fans.

That all is changes on October 17th however, on what will be a massive promotion.

The man in front of him will have one or two things to say about that, though, and represents arguably the toughest test of the champion’s career to date – and certainly one of the biggest names.

Strap yourself in for one hell of a night of boxing in New York, we genuinely can’t wait for this one.
