Conor Benn’s aggression was supposed to be his advantage. Instead, it fed directly into Ryan Garcia’s counterpunching instincts and ended the fight in two rounds.
This is exactly the fight that Garcia surely intended for, to use the anger against Benn against him.

- Garcia’s hand speed let him exploit that window
- Benn’s corner had little room for adjustment mid-fight
- Staying calm under pressure is what separates Garcia from lesser fighters
Champion Ryan Garcia also kept the distance of the fight at his intended range also, not Benn’s.
The Garcia vs Benn reaction after mostly had been stunned at the early end of the fight but Garcia proved far above the class of Benn in ability ultimately.
