- Garcia’s emotional control issues were hidden by the quick win.
- Benn didn’t protest the stoppage, so we can’t gauge how hurt he really was.
- Zero moments of struggle means zero proof Garcia can solve actual problems.
Crucially it did not prove the solidness and durability of his chin up at 147 pounds either.
Garcia boxed solidly against Barrios but not against Rolly Romero last year, that chin at that division, if caught by a big puncher, still a bit untested.
The fight ended before it even got started, it proved pounds don’t get victories in professional boxing.
Ability does.
Conor Benn coming in at 181 pounds or so tonight did nothing for him at the end of the day.
Garcia should have been boxing Devin Haney tonight instead.
