Shields needed big name opponents like Laila Ali and people just do not like her in America, any State she goes, as much as she tries.
She is the greatest female boxer of all time, by a mile, but there are no big fights of note there for her.
Floyd Mayweather also of the US, has appeared doing interviews alongside Shields all of a sudden yesterday.
It proves he is scraping the barrel at this point for PR in the US as people are not interested in doing business alongside him anymore.
After all his collapsed exhibitions and the Manny rematch also.

- Claressa Shields is 18-0 with two Olympic golds and draws 18,000 fans — yet remains a niche figure in America
- She only has three knockouts though and is not very exciting at this point
- The meeting pairing them has generated zero mainstream buzz
- Mayweather reduced to a sideshow while Shields still fights for recognition
- Both are shadows of what they could be — one broke, one overlooked
