Errol Spence has officially retired from professional boxing tonight a short time ago following his defeat to Tim Tszyu.
He was out pointed on points tonight in boxing by unanimous decision by Australian Tszyu.
Here is what might be or could be next for Errol Spence of Texas:
- Taking time off to rest and decompress after his last camp.
- Transitioning into boxing promotion – has called it his “calling” and already manages fighters.
- Spending more time with family and enjoying life on his Texas ranch.
- Possibly taking a fight-by-fight approach – hasn’t completely ruled out a return.
- His trainer said he’d fight no more than three more times, strictly for personal satisfaction.
- Has stated he’s “done” if he loses again – retirement is already on the table.
- Not chasing titles anymore – wants to end his career on his own terms.
- Financially secure – not fighting for money, only personal goals.
- Mentoring young fighters coming up in the sport.
- Wants closure – biggest motivation is not going out the way he did against Crawford.
Who knows what is next for Errol Spence though.
He had a solid career in the sport at any rate.
Congrats to Tim Tszyu on the win tonight.
Plenty of fights available to him surely in and around 155 to 160 pounds.
