Errol Spence makes concerning move the month of the fight with Tim Tszyu

It is easy to be over critical but often times where there is smoke there is sometimes fire. There are some new concerns now on Errol Spence.

Errol Spence gets back in the ring for the first time in over three years this month and is the first time he has boxed since the Terence Crawford fight.

He was beaten well on that occasion and stopped over three years ago.

He fights Tim Tszyu on July 25th in a big catchweight fight at 158 pounds in Australia.

There has been concerns from the beginning.

From how he is training, to his added weight slowing him down, to changes in trainers, to ring rust, to his lack of motivation, to the fact he is fighting at a weight he has never done before, to picking a dangerous opponent as his first fight in over three years since boxing and being knocked out, to much more.

Once again, after coming off the worst defeat of his life and over three years ago to Terence Crawford.

Now on fight month he has done a ghost on an appearance for a tele conference call to publicize the fight with Tim Tszyu and his trainer Jeff Fenech.

Apparently this was due to the time difference between Australia and the US — where Spence is from.

He will be fighting in Australia though and this comes across as unprofessional and very seldom you see this happen from a professional boxer.

This is atypical for them to miss a sheduled call for the fight like this where the opponent and trainer in the opposing corner are present.

It just proves again the lack of how serious he is taking this fight with Tim Tszyu in our books.

He might be sparring and doing some boxing work but looks to be doing too much time in the weights room.

Boxing and moving up to 158 pounds is not a weight-lifting contest and Roy Jones was right recently — he needs to get back to his boxing for this.

It is not clear if he should be fined for missing a pre-fight tele coference call.

Usually in all fight agreements doing press is part of the arrangement for boxers.

Funnily enough, Spence comes across as a happy-go-lucky individual with not a care in the world.

Do not be fooled by that outward exterior.

Texas boxer Errol Spence is very concerned. Deeply so.

The brutal reality that is ahead of him is this month and only 22 days away now on July 25th.

He needs to get the Terence Crawford demon out of his head with this fight and the only way to do it is to try to defeat Tim Tszyu.

Let’s see Spence try.

Advantage again — Tim Tszyu.
