Daniel Dubois looks to have the eye of the tiger back a bit ahead of his heavyweight title fight with Fabio Wardley.
It wasn’t long ago that it was Daniel Dubois who was heavyweight champion.
But he ran into one Oleksandr Usyk who ended his unbeaten record in boxing and knocked him out back in 2025 (per the above photo).
A short time ago Daniel Dubois said to DAZN that he is looking to end the unbeaten record of Wardley this weekend:
“It’s both two warriors, and I’m you know, coming to take his ‘0’ and do the business.”
Dubois has not fought since that night with Usyk last year. Last summer at Wembley so will have mental demons in his head surely he will be looking to obliterate.
The only way to do that is to defeat Fabio Wardley and that is what is intends on doing.
Wardley will have other plans and you can’t knock Dubois for effort here. He’s going straight back into a world title fight after the Usyk knockout defeat right away.
Full marks for that.
Some will say it is too earlier but it is a calculated risk on Dubois and his team’s part.
Dubois also has Don Charles his old trainer back in his corner.
Remember prior to the Usyk loss Dubois had beaten Anthony Joshua, Filip Hrgović and Jarrell Miller all in a row by knockout.
Before that he had lost to Usyk again by knockout so Usyk appears to be his bogeyman.
Dubois has lost three times as a professional boxer. The other time being against Joe Joyce.
In heavyweight boxing all it takes is one punch at the end of the day.
You get the impression the Daniel Dubois chin will be tested by Wardley very early on.
It will be key for Dubois to come through early onslaughts.
