Learn more about the Shane Mosley Jr. strengths and weaknesses as a fighter as he gets in the ring ahead of his latest boxing match below.
He gets back to boxing this weekend in the US vs big hitting Ukrainian Serhii Bohach.
Here’s what we believe to be the Shane Mosley Jr. current strengths and weaknesses as a professional boxer:
Shane Mosley Jr Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths:
- Size: 6’1″, 77″ reach — 4+ inch reach advantage over Bohachuk
- Jab: “Powerful jab” and uses height/reach effectively
- Body work: Known for targeting the body with heavy shots
- Chin: Proven to have a good chin and 0 losses by KO
- Mid-range/clinch: Very effective in the mid-range, landing his punches, then tying opponents up
Weaknesses:
- Stamina: “Main drawback seems to be stamina… running out of gas” in later rounds
- Activity: Multiple 10+ month layoffs
- Southpaws: “Hasn’t faced a left-hander since 2017”
- Power: Only 44.44% KO rate vs Bohachuk’s 92%
- Volume: Can be outworked — one prediction says Bohachuk’s high output will prove to be too much — possibly.
So this weekend with Serhii Bohach he’s getting in there with a tall middleweight like himself but Serhii Bohach is a puncher.
Mosely Jr is not.
This is something the Ukrainian will surely look to take advantage of from round one and land big bombs on Mosley Jr.
He would be well advised to. As well as throwing many of them, early, starting fast.
