Errol Spence bullish in the first meeting and face off and press conference with his next opponent Tim Tszyu of Australia.
Spence technically will be out of the ring for nearly three and a half years by the time he fights Tszyu this summer.
He tried to shorten that to a convenient three years however a short time ago.
Here is what both fighters said at the first face off:
Tim Tszyu quotes:
- “I’ve always been a guy that chases the toughest and baddest challenges out there. When I got presented with Errol, who is undeniably one of the best fighters of this decade, I didn’t hesitate and straight away accepted.”
- “I accepted not just to compete, but because victory is the only thing on my mind.”
- “I know the challenge in front of me, but I’m going to work super hard. I’m coming for it all. Victory is mine.”
Errol Spence Jr. quotes:
- “I’m glad to be back. It’s been a long time — a three-year layoff. I’m sure everybody has their opinions, thinking I’m a shell of myself or asking if I still have it.”
- “I guarantee you that on July 26, you will see a better, more improved Errol Spence.”
- “The three years off helped me mentally and physically. It gave me time to recover and enjoy life with family and friends.”
- “I look forward to disappointing his fans, putting on a great show, and showing y’all why they call me ‘The Truth’.”
Spence has been out of the ring not only for three and a half years but when he did last fight he was wiped out by brutal TKO by Terence Crawford.
And was in a horrific car crash before that as well.
