May Pac 2 Update Suggests Fight Could Still Happen

This new May Pac 2 fight suggests at least talks to making the fight still happen are ongoing at the moment amid the Mayweather mess.

Since Floyd Mayweather said in recent weeks the fight could be an exhibition instead of a proper real pro fight and rematch on Netflix, fans around the world have erupted on him.

Now reports suggest that the rematch is being looked to be changed in terms of venue from the Sphere to either the T-Mobile or MGM Grand arena.

That suggests the talks are still ongoing at least.

Here’s what we know:

  • Venue switched: Mayweather-Pacquiao 2 is moving from The Sphere to either MGM Grand Garden Arena or T-Mobile Arena.
  • Date might change: Sept 19 is booked at T-Mobile, so Aug 15 is being looked at instead.
  • Why the move: Promoters want an MGM casino property because “The Sphere isn’t connected to a casino”.
  • Fight still happening: Talks are ongoing — “the fight is still on, it’s not cancelled”.
  • Don’t buy Sphere tickets: Officials say it’s “one million percent not happening” at The Sphere.

At the end of the day, if it is not a proper professional boxing match rematch fans and the sport will not forgive Mayweather.

He must deliver the fight and Netflix must surely be speaking with him closely on this as we speak.

In the meantime Mayweather claims he’s fighting in Greece this summer.
