Is Mayweather fighting again ever in a pro fight?

Is Mayweather fighting again

There still is no confirmation on the May Pac 2 fight yet as things stand.

That is despite Pacman saying their fight on Netflix is still on for the Sphere and is still a professional fight.

But nothing concrete still has come from Mayweather.

Not yet anyway.

Here are 12 short facts on Floyd Mayweather’s chances of a real pro boxing comeback (including Pacquiao rematch) vs exhibitions as of April 2026:

  1. Mayweather is 49 and announced in February 2026 he is ending retirement for pro boxing return.
  2. He originally planned a real pro rematch with Manny Pacquiao on September 19, 2026 at the Sphere.
  3. Mayweather later said the Pacquiao event is only an exhibition, not a real fight.
  4. Pacquiao’s team insists it is a contracted professional fight and has threatened legal action if changed.
  5. Mayweather has already scheduled two 2026 exhibitions (vs Mike Tyson and Mike Zambidis).
  6. He has a clear pattern of doing big-money exhibitions that do not count on his 50-0 record.
  7. No other real pro opponents have been confirmed beyond the disputed Pacquiao bout.
  8. At age 49, most experts believe he prefers exhibitions to protect his undefeated legacy.
  9. Pacquiao says he will only participate if it’s a real professional fight.
  10. Contract disputes have put the whole Pacquiao rematch in serious doubt.
  11. Mayweather’s recent comments focus on “entertainment” and big paydays rather than legacy fights.
  12. Current lean: Exhibitions are far more likely. A true pro comeback (including a counting Pacquiao rematch) looks unlikely right now.

There are the knowns so far.

There has been reports that Mayweather is fighting the IRS outside of boxing as well as reports that he already took an advance on the May Pac 2 fight purse.

Other reports have said he won’t fight at all against Pacman.

Mayweather recently said it would be an exhibition.

He appeared to miss the deadline yesterday to get the fight on.

Who knows what will happen Floyd Mayweather this year.
