On paper Pacman once again as in boxing and as in life finds himself as an underdog.
This has been a prevailing theme in his career and life which is strange considering he’s boxing‘s only eight-weight world champion, an active Hall of Famer and someone who has achieved more in life and sport than most.
But he always puts himself in dangerous fights or sets himself big goals and challenges.
That’s who he is, Pacman.
The likes of Conor McGregor and others have gone on record early and said Mayweather wins the big rematch easily in September.
We’re not so sure about that.
Ring rust is real, very real.
Manny Pacquiao is the one who has been very active in recent years and only last year was in a proper world title fight with Mario Barrios which he drew.
This is something that cannot be underestimated, that activity will help him this year and he’s two years younger than Mayweather as well at 47.
Mayweather is the less active 49-year-old of the two who has not been competing as much as Pacman in recent years.
That cannot be discounted and Pacman is the one who is motivated by vengeance after losing the first fight all the way back in 2015 at this point.
That said, many who have watched Mayweather train have said he hasn’t missed a beat in his training thus far.
To write off Pacman completely would be foolish.
It has been proven to be a silly thing to do time and time again over the years.
He thrives on being an underdog.
