Why Are People Underestimating Sebastian Fundora Against Keith Thurman

He is the champion after all.

Sure, Keith Thurman had an impressive win last year all the way in Australia in his comeback fight after years away from boxing and injury rehab.

He did. He got a good win over there against Jarvis.

But Sebastian Fundora is not Brock Jarvis.

Keith Thurman as talks the talk before his fights but he backed it up last time. Talk wont work with someone like Sebastian Fundora however. An improving
world champion and he towers over Keith Thurman as well.

As he does all his opponents.

For his size being so unusually tall for the weight he often neglects to use that reach and range to his advantage with the jab at times.

Instead he gets caught up in wars of attrition at times and he doesn’t need to. Even with fighting boxers much smaller than him at times he fights them literally in the pocket
at close range.

You don’t need to.

He can make this a far easier fight and more advantageous bout for him in all aspects but shutting the doors off completely to anything his foe in Thurman tries to do.

He can do this early on in the fight too.

Right away even. It is a good fight though as Thurman will at least try and give it his all but we think it is absurd how so many people are underestimating the stoic but lethal and real killer in the fight game, Sebastian Fundora.

If Fundora boxes like he can in this one in 2026 he can make this an easy fight. No problem.

Easily. Stick to his boxing and if he has to trade, only do so when it is an advantage for him to do so.

We would say he doesn’t need to though. At all. His boxing, range and power can speak for themselves in this one.

In a year of big underdog upset wins happening everywhere in 2026 already, it is astonishing how Fundora is so underrated and underestimated.

Not for long.

As for after that, one Errol Spence claimed here he’s looking at facing the winner — but he hasn’t fought in years since Terence Crawford battered him into oblivion.
