Brandon Figueroa Is Yet Another Upset Underdog Win In Boxing

The weekend just gone saw it happen yet again.

Once again an upset big world title win. Once again an away fighter travelling to hostile territory.

Ripping the world title away from the champion.

The UK’s Nick Ball of course will be back and is an excellent fighter. He just came up against an inspired Brandon Figueroa.

Who was not to be denied.

A man on a mission who would stop at nothing and it showed. The quality of some of his combinations and left hooks was quite lethal.

He is an outstanding world champion who maybe some in boxing were even overlooking over the years.

He’s now a three-weight world champion after stopping Nick Ball in incredible fashion to get the win.

He’s done so well he’s made the pound for pound debate a little bit more difficult as well. The standard and quality of international fighters and world champions competing to get into the top 20, top 15 and ultimately the top 10 pound for pound rankings list is off the charts.

Maybe never as difficult to do as it is now in the entire history of professional boxing.

Due to the sheer amount of quality fighters in so many weight divisions now all over the world.

American Figueroa was just the latest in a plethora or underdog, upset and away fighter big wins and world title wins in boxing lately.

What a sport.

Well done Brandon Figueroa and hard luck Nick Ball.

Even after the in ring brawl after — Figueroa rose above it and was a class act.

A real killer in that fight game though, well done to the new champion.
