Floyd Mayweather is linked to some huge events in boxing this year.
Notably against Mike Tyson in an exhibition which would be bigger than anything in the world as far as exhibitions go.
But also a proper rematch in professional boxing with Manny Pacquiao as well.
So this is strange. Some reports online and from retired Greek kickboxer Mike Zambidis claims he’s boxing Mayweather this summer with this:

Here’s the facts of what we know on this so far:
- Retired Greek kickboxer Mike Zambidis (known as “Iron Mike”), a former 18-time world champion in K-1 MAX and other kickboxing organizations, posted on his official social media (Instagram and Facebook) announcing a fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr..
- The post claims the bout is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the OAKA Olympic Indoor Hall (OAKA Arena) in Athens, Greece.Zambidis branded the event as “Battle of the Legends” and included the caption “HISTORY IS ABOUT TO BE MADE,” with tags for @floydmayweather and hashtags like #Mayweather #Zambidis #BattleOfLegends #Greece.
- The announcement poster references Mayweather Promotions partnering with Front Row Fight Series (which has previously promoted Mayweather’s exhibition bouts against John Gotti III and Aaron Chalmers).
- The post surfaced around early February 2026 (visible as of February 3-4, 2026), and Zambidis tagged Mayweather directly.
- No confirmation has come from Floyd Mayweather, his team, Mayweather Promotions, or any official boxing/exhibition sources as of February 4, 2026.Major U.S. media outlets (e.g., TMZ, ESPN) have not reported or verified the fight; coverage is limited to combat sports blogs, Greek media, Bloody Elbow, The Sun, EssentiallySports, and social media reposts.
- Many online reactions express skepticism, noting the lack of details from Mayweather’s side, no fight contract mention, and questions about why it was announced months in advance with only one-sided promotion.
- Zambidis (age 45 in 2026) last competed professionally in kickboxing in 2015 and had one boxing win in 2019; Mayweather (age 49 in 2026) has fought only exhibitions since retiring undefeated at 50-0 in 2017. This claim emerged amid Mayweather’s ongoing multimillion-dollar lawsuit against Showtime and his history of multiple exhibition announcements (e.g., vs. Mike Tyson, Manny Pacquiao), some of which have not materialized.
Alas, we wouldn’t pay too much attention on the above fight poster just yet.
There’s way bigger fights out there for Mayweather.
Certainly a real pro boxing match and rematch with Manny Pacquiao is still huge.
