Why The Heavyweight Division Is More Alive In 2026 Than It Has Been In Years

Heavyweight boxing is doing great at the moment and people are underestimating it at the moment and they are very unwise to do so.

Yes, it is not the days of Muhammad Ali. Those days are never going to be there as Ali was bigger than boxing, sport, society, life, movies, everything.

The man was a titan and a legend of it all but a real killer. No one was more of a killer than Muhammad Ali in there.

But what we have in today’s times is still quite good — Usyk of Ukraine is an outstanding heavyweight.

He has been able to unify titles all around the world on his travels going from cruiserweight up to heavyweight to stay undefeated and basically beaten everyone of his time.

Multiple times with the likes of Tyson Fury and other big names even of these times.

But why the division is buzzing at the moment possibly isn’t just to do with Usyk.

He is the King of heavyweight boxing certainly but there is so much people buzzing around just beneath him that want to take his place.

Not just young contenders like Jared Anderson, Moses Itauma and even young former heavyweight champions like Daniel Dubois.

All part of the new era of heavyweights like heavyweights in Germany and Croatia like Hrgovic and many other new contenders out of nowhere like new WBO heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley.

Wardley literally came out of nowhere to some from the UK in recent years and a had a huge win over from WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker last year.

Parker and others are still all around from the old guard even though they are not old at all by heavyweight standards.

Tyson Fury is coming back, Hughie Fury is still there, even Wladimir Klitschko is in heavy sparring again.

There is a good heavyweight fight every week or two happening somewhere near a high level in the division somewhere in the world now.

Again the fights are great.

People enjoy great fights and the heavyweight division has always been fans possibly favorite division just due to the sheer excitement of the knockouts and so on.

We look forward to the continue knockouts of Moses Itauma in particular this year.

This is a huge year for boxing and all of the above can and will be part of it.
