Ireland’s Callum Walsh had to come back some early career adversity tonight in the US but came back to win.
That is a sign of a good fighter in the making and a potential champion in professional boxing.
Things don’t always go the way of boxers in the ring and all the greats have been hurt or even knocked down.
Walsh was forced to take a standing eight count a short time ago here:
He finished the fight however and won the contest tonight by UD on points.
He improved his professional boxing record to 16-0.
Afterwards he expressed some disappointment that he didn’t get the knockout as that is usually his intention.
Afterwards he mentioned he felt a lot better and that he improved and that his cardio improved.
He mentioned that he was happy to get another ten rounds under his belt.
Ocampo is a live opponent again tonight like Vargas junior before that.
Walsh will surely go over the footage in terms of mistakes and adjustments with how he got caught but overall he boxed well tonight.
Tonight will do him the world of good we believe.
As part of a Paramount Plus and Meta show as well — lots of new fans.
