Out of all the world title organizations the WBA is maybe still the most unclear for new fans in particular to the sport of professional boxing internationally.
In all countries now there are new, young fans aged 18 to 30 watching boxing for the first time which is a truly great thing thanks to a mixture of drivers and factors in that constantly changing, unpredictable but relentless equation.
Many new fans simply want to know where’s a great place to first start watching boxing and what to watch, and that’s alright.
However they need to be educated more on the world title situation and currently (how long for remains to be seen) the main four organizations are the WBC, the WBO, the IBF and the WBA.
It is possible this will change around a bit this year with new players in the market that will disrupt boxing in a way never before seen with heavy duty private, corporation and government firepower and ammunition that boxing will have never seen since its foundation as a sport — to reform the sport.
The WBA Must Reform Or Cease To Exist Or Be Relevant
With an iron fist. To unify it all. Make the best fights for fan on a way more regular basis taking boxing back to the golden days. Rest assured. 2026 is a big year for boxing.
But the WBA still has all these ‘super’, ‘regular’, ‘interim’ and other titles an so on for world champions in each weight division.
The WBC at least for the really big fights and occasions make speciality belts only for super fights which works well and is more a promotion thing and fans like those belts.
But that is rare when they do it.
There is still a crazy amount of mandatory challengers however with the WBA for all these regular, super and interim versions of the world title and this has to end now.
Otherwise the WBA (World Boxing Association) will simply be left behind this year with the changes to the Muhammad Ali Act to reform and update it for the entire sport, internationally.
Boxing, the entire industry and the entire sport will just quickly move on without the WBA unless they reform in the above regard specifically.
Rankings in boxing are also being looked at across the board now.
Boxing will win as always anyway.
