Anthony Joshua was one of Sky’s big marketing success in their hype machine at one time but ultimately that came unstuck for him at the highest level many times now.

To the likes of Andy Ruiz, Usyk (twice ) and Daniel Dubois only last year.

He is far from infallible and far from invincible as the once famous Adam Smith of Sky coined his early rise as ‘Lift off for AJ!’

Fast forward to 2024 and it was reality check for AJ.

And lift off instead for ‘Dynamite’ Daniel Dubois who’s brick fists brutally concussed Joshua last year.

The Joshua fallacy Shelly Finkel once called it had hit home, at last, after the Wilder vs Joshua fight should have happened years before.

The bout was also another stark remainder of the unpredictability of heavyweight boxing, more than any division in any sport, it can see changes happen in an instant with just one single hard punch.

That’s really all it takes. If it lands at the right time anyone can go at that weight division, they hit very powerfully.

Jake Paul will weigh around 215 pounds for the fight which is a little under still what Mike Tyson used to weigh in at back in his early days of 220 pounds, so, he’ll have enough power if he lands right with timing, speed and precision, in surprise ways, to hurt anyone if he connects.

That isn’t to say he just has a puncher’s chance either, which would not entirely by the full story or picture, would it.

The reality is the sports books have brought him in hugely in the lines and he’s a small underdog now of only 6/1 in some places with some wagering over five million US dollars for him to beat Joshua in the run up to the contest.

Joshua claims he is not falling into the trap of not taking Paul serious but time will tell.

Paul continues to build him empire in boxing regardless.
