Why The Best Fighters Are Usually The Quietest Outside The Ring

The quiet stoic warrior was not just the likes of Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico, oh yes, there has been many more in the sweet science.

That’s a bit of a paradox for today’s fast pace digital, brash, overly extroverted, well at least perceived as much to the uneducated or less intelligent and
aware of what’s around them in the world, general sports fan.

That can be distracted or influenced too easily by things like Instagram and so on.

Where boxers because of all this think they have to do more talking then they should to get a following or to market their fights better and so on.

Not always the case.

Look at Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford for instance.

Both very quiet men away from boxing and even in general themselves, certainly Crawford is a very quiet man.

He’s now the pound for pound king of all of boxing and has a huge following.

Why the Best Fighters Are Usually the Quietest Outside the Ring

He’s the best fighter in the world in the sport maybe of the last decade since Floyd Mayweather and is one of the quietest outside of the ring.

Rocky Marciano and many others were also like this years back as well.

Same with Naoya ‘The Monster’ Inoue of Japan at the moment — one of boxing’s best pound for pound and Japan’s best ever boxer. He signed a huge commercial
Eastern sponsorship deal in recent years as well and his star is only really starting to take off now and in the time ahead.

Not just in Japan but across Asia and the East in the time ahead — rest assured.

Never confuse equating talk with what matters the most.

Fighting.

It’s all about the fights at the end of the day.

Terence Crawford is the best at that in boxing and one of the best boxers that ever lived and is one of the quiest athletes there ever was.

Still has a huge following and is growing quickly as well.

The success of his fight with Canelo cannot be underestimated moving forward — much to build on now.
