Soon Ryan Garcia will once again land on his feet and challenge for the championship of the world.
You can’t get keep a good thing down and Garcia, America’s most followed boxing star out of active current professional fighters, loves his country, the USA, and the sport of boxing.
He came through a few ups and downs like all young men do and was doing so in the spotlight as well and his mother nearly died last year with cancer, and he still stepped in to take the fight with all the ring rust with Rolly Romero.
Manny Pacquiao May Have Shown Ryan Garcia Some Of The Way To Beat Barrios
He boxed terribly and had an off night, it happens, it can’t be home runs every night in the sport.
But the idea is for any elite level fighter is to make sure 99 per cent of them are.
Even when Floyd Mayweather, Joe Calzaghe, Rocky Marciano, Terence Crawford and others had an off night, they still somehow found a way to win on those nights.
Those fighters are very rare in boxing and in life, alas.
Earlier this year another rare fighting man, boxing’s only eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao made the impossible possible at the age of 46.
He drew with 30-year-old WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios in what was scored a draw but most thought he deserved to get the verdict on the night earlier this summer.
He used angles, speed and his boxing IQ to get in and out at times.
Garcia can look at that fight and take heart soon and train ferociously over Christmas to ensure he becomes champion again shortly.
Ryan Garcia is active again on social media and expect plenty of activity between now and the Barrios fight.
So many great fights to be made at welterweight now.
Happy days.
