Mick Conlan Said It Well On Usyk

Mick Conlan Said It Well On Usyk

Mick Conlan is famous for two things, like Elon Musk, his iconic middle finger gestures online, and being one of the most fearless Irish fighting men ever.

The latter has not always gone to plan for him in his boxing matches, getting caught with shots he should not have, he’d acknowledge that surely.

But come hell or high water, he is always in good fights, he and his brother had almost Mexican fighting styles, very suited to the professional boxing ranks.

Not many picked up on recently Conlan saying on the X platform of undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, Oleksandr Usyk:

“What a fighter, Usyk is a generational talent”

Belfast’s Mick Conlan has said it well above.

Some may suggest Usyk is much more than that though.

In many ways Usyk is the Muhammad Ali of these times, in many ways, he has actually done more than Ali in some ways.

Usyk has literally gone around the world and battered everyone in countries all around the world — in a much shorter time frame as a professional than Ali did.

Okay, Ali went to Zaire and defeated George Foreman in the classic Rumble in the Jungle.

And okay, Ali did go to England to beat Henry Cooper.

And actually, Ali went to many counties around the world as well to beat fighters in Canada, Ireland, Switzerland, India, Germany, Japan, and in most of where he fought, America, his home country.

But Usyk has actually travelled to a similar number of countries that Ali did as a professional.

But in way quicker time — and stayed undefeated as well.

Think about that.

Usyk has battered the best fighters in the world in Ukraine, Poland, Russia, Germany, the US, Saudi Arabia, Latvia, the UK and so on.

Not only battered them, absolutely dismanlted the best boxers from the UK time and time again.

Where he has absolutely battered his way thought the UK so violently, that in his last fight he literally brutally knocked out one of the most dangerous young men of these times.

A far improved ‘Dynamite’ Daniel Dubois — Dubois was much improved from their first fight.

Usyk is getting better, even now, but he can’t stay around forever, we are lucky to have him around, true greatness.

We’ll miss him when he’s gone, boxing will.

Usyk is the Muhammad Ali of these times, if he spoke a bit more English it would help the masses get to know him a bit more.

Usyk is just as charismatic as Muhammad Ali, he just doesn’t speak English fluently.

Usyk is also a two-weight champion, cruiserweight and heavyweight, undisputed as well.

Ali was only a heavyweight champion.

Sure, most will say Ali would have flattened Usyk, but that’s a we will never know kind of argument.

Appreciate Usyk while he is here.

He will be missed when he is gone.

What we are seeing with Oleksandr Usyk is one of the greatest fighters that ever lived.

Ever.
