Some sad news has hit the sport of boxing with one of its famed fighting sons now confirmed as dead sadly a short time ago.

Boxing has lost a lot of great people and fighters alike this year already, in the year of the passing of George Foreman and many more.

Now add Hall of Famer Dwight Muhammad Qawi a two-weight world champion to the list, sadly.

After a year of battling dementia at 72 he has now been confirmed to have died following the battle with dementia.

The American from Baltimore won the title at light-heavyweight and cruiserweight and was a Ring Magazine champion.

Rest easy up there in heaven champ.
