“It wasn’t something I thought about. I loved what they did and what they continue to do, but I never thought about being the manager of three Ring Magazine Fighters of the Year. It’s nice when people recognize what you do, but as a manager, most of what we do is behind the scenes. You don’t see it, you don’t know what I do. Some fighters appreciate it, but some don’t even know what we do. I never thought about having three Ring Magazine Fighters of the Year, but now if you ask me, I don’t even count how many champions I’ve had in my career. I know I have more than 10, but I don’t keep track of those numbers. I just do my job.”
He is right.
A good manager isn’t really well known in boxing — they are mostly behind the scenes.
Not all of them, mind you.
The success Klimas has had is testament to the trust put in him by some of the best fighters in the world.
