They did more than that after, they kicked him out, Teofimo Lopez had gone mad a bit tonight at the Garcia vs Benn fight in Vegas.
It is a unification fight at 147 pounds that nobody is expected but Garcia called out Lopez after tonight.
And Lopez looks to be interested in the fight.
Some notes on it;
- Garcia shouted “Teofimo, get up here” mid-interview
- Lopez tried to climb into the ring but security blocked him
- Garcia called for a full cleanup of the division
- Lopez had already targeted the Garcia-Benn winner
- Garcia believes Lopez’s defense is overrated and easy to hit
- Garcia called Lopez the easiest road to make
- Lopez said the fight is the road to undisputed
- Lopez is the only “New Four Kings” member Garcia hasn’t fought
- Lopez insists he doesn’t duck or dodge anyone
- Two young champions with contrasting styles sells itself
That term four kings of today’s times though is very disingenuous to the Hagler, Hearns, Leonard and Duran era at 147 pounds years ago.
Garcia is capable and an entertaining fighter but you can’t compare him to the above.
It is possible the fight does not happen involving Garcia vs Lopez but certainly it caused one heck of a lot of commotion tonight ringside.
