Edgar Berlanga spoke on what is next for him after his latest victory over Steven Butler in Sunday night boxing.
Puerto-Rican American Berlanga got up off the canvas to come back and win by a 7th round stoppage.
Very entertaining and he is usually in solid scraps.
After he said a while ago:
“I’ve got to talk with my team — Keith Connolly, Dana White, Nick Khan, Harrison — and see what’s on the menu. I want Chris Eubank Jr. I’ve been talking about him for a long time. That would be a big mega fight in London. We could do it in November or December. If not, Jaime Munguia — that’s a big fight, Mexico vs. Puerto Rico. Caleb Plant, Jermall Charlo… But the fight we really want is Hamzah Sheeraz. I want that smoke. Before that, I want a world title so when we meet, it’s a unification the– biggest fight in boxing.”
Berlanga saw his stock rise again in boxing.
He was hurt again but got up to win and that translates to dollars and sells these days in boxing.
That said, he is not really a type flight fighter at the very pinnacle of boxing like some said he was going to be years ago.
The way now in decline, rapidly in decline, old promoter Bob Arum used to talk about Berlanga, you’d think he was the next Miguel Cotto from Puerto Rico.
Edgar Berlanga is far from that.
He might be in decline actually as a fighter but can punch and is always in entertaining scraps, no doubt about it.
