Some concerning news has come on Dmitry Bivol which you would not expect with him and is a surprise.
The Russian boxer returned to the ring recently after some time out and a surgery and was not very impressive against a German Eifert.
He won an easy points win in Russia in his comeback fight but did not look the Bivol of old.
Although still much ability, physically he looked weak and did not have the power to really off put his opponent.
It has been mentioned now that he has actually turned down a fight offer to fight his rival Artur Beterbiev from Russia a third time.
Not only that but apparently he has turned down an offer that represented double the money of one of their last fight purses as well.
They are currently 1-1 in their two fights as professionals.
What is his problem?
The fight would clearly sell out a stadium in Russia and net him big money and more.
He would however have a chance to establish that he is the better boxer of the two in the rubber match in the trilogy?
It would give him a chance to prove he is one of the best light-heavyweights of this era of boxing as well?
This looks to show it is not Beterbiev, yet again, who is the issue with making the fight.
Clearly the issue is on the Bivol side.
They could get 100,000 fans into a stadium in Russia for such a fight and Bivol looks to be letting an opportunity slip.
No one wants to see him fight Callum Smith of the UK at light-heavyweight which has also been mentioned recently.
Fights with Beterbiev, American David Benavidez or even Australian Jai Opetaia at cruiserweight are all the fights that spectators want to see Bivol in.
It is not clear how long Dmitry Bivol will be boxing for though as he appears to have sustained yet another injury recently after his latest comeback.
