Anthony Joshua facing strange opponent next, Joshua never the same since Ruiz knocked him out

Anthony Joshua facing an unheard of opponent next and meets for the first time

Anthony Joshua is facing a completely unheard of opponent next up who no one has ever heard of. Strange to say the least.

Everyone in the UK and Europe wants to see the Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight and apparently they are looking to fight at the end of the year but who’s about that though.

Joshua met face to face with Kristian Prenga a short time ago and it was a strange meeting to say the least.

Joshua looked nervous behind shades and said he’s rebuilding, a strange thing to say at this stage of his career — surely he’s only interested in the big fights at this point.

Not a bout with Kristian Prenga.

The fact remains Anthony Joshua has been in terminal decline since Andy Ruiz brutally knocked him out seven years ago today on June 1st 2019.

Here’s why:

  • Joshua lost his first pro fight to Andy Ruiz Jr by TKO in round 7 on June 1, 2019.
  • He lost his unified heavyweight titles in that Ruiz fight.
  • Joshua lost to Oleksandr Usyk by unanimous decision in 2021.
  • He lost the Usyk rematch by split decision in 2022.
  • Joshua was knocked out by Daniel Dubois in round 5 in 2024.
  • Joshua now has four career losses and two stoppage defeats.
  • Many experts say Joshua looks less explosive since the Ruiz loss.
  • He shows slower reactions and weaker defense in recent years.
  • Against Jake Paul in December 2025, Joshua needed six rounds to win by knockout.
  • Paul, a former cruiserweight with little pro boxing experience, landed shots on Joshua during the fight.

Anthony Joshua has lost three further times since that night to Ruiz and he’s never looked the same boxer or fighter since.

He is only going to decline further and faster in more brutal fashion we sense.

His performance against Jake Paul was atrocious, maybe the worst of his career. He was caught many times by a novice boxer.

This opponent next up is a shocking choice by him and fans are rightly hammering him worldwide.
