Daniel Dubois vs Tyson Fury could be a solid little scrap in heavyweight boxing next after the KO of Wardley by Dubois.
Both are coming off the back of wins now.
All be it Fury a lesser opponent name in his Netflix fight last month.
But still, both have fought Usyk multiple times in huge events as well and are big names in their own right.
America and international boxing fans are familiar with both Fury and Dubois at this point.
Here’s why it is a solid little scrap in heavyweight boxing:
- Dubois is now WBO champ after stopping Wardley in round 11.
- He answered the toughness questions – got up from two knockdowns to win.
- Styles clash: Fury’s slick size vs Dubois’ pressure and power.
- Dubois has momentum – 23-3, 22 KOs, two-time world champ now.
- Settles best British heavyweight debate right now.
- Both can survive knockdowns – Fury and Dubois have both climbed off the canvas to win wars.
- Easy to make – Frank Warren promotes both fighters.
- Dubois’ power is proven – broke Wardley’s nose, closed his eye, forced the stoppage.
- Fresh storyline – Dubois needs a new big fight after going 0-2 vs Usyk.
- Huge UK fight – Dubois-Wardley was a stadium all-British war; Fury takes it bigger.
Fury is pursuing the Joshua fight at the moment however and is apparently maybe taking another fight before the Joshua fight later in the year.
Joshua is spending an awful lot of time in Ukraine these days.
So who knows what will happen with either fighter but in theory it’s a solid fight.
A Dubois vs Wardley rematch is excellent as well.
