Remarkably a Dana White vs Eddie Hearn boxing match is growing legs at the moment is actually being considered as a fight.
Both have a large number of social media followers and are big names in boxing and around the world at this point.
Certainly White is a huge name and one of the more famous people in America as the President of the UFC (Ultimate fighting Championship).
But he’s a boxing promoter now as well with boxers fighting on the Paramount Plus network and he’s promoted a few boxing events this year already.
After his first big one for Terence Crawford vs Canelo Alvarez last year on Netflix in September of 2025.
The two promoters, White if the US and Hearn of the UK, don’t appear to be too fond of one another.
Both have called one another pu****s in the media.
White referenced Hearn as a ‘bum’ recently and mentioned nobody wanted to see them fight.
Both are older in years now and apparently according to some reports from Fight Hub, real money of $20 million has been put up already behind the scenes to stage a boxing match between Dana White and Eddie Hearn.
On first inspection you think, wow, crazy.
But then, look at it another way.
With all the influencer boxing happening lately in boxing, MMA and UFC fighters fighting in professional boxing more than ever in the US and worldwide, celebrity boxing, KSI’s Misfits Promotions, Jake Paul and him now getting boxers on ESPN, the UFC now actually promoting boxing themselves, governments and new companies all the time coming to boxing, this isn’t that strange.
It is a different angle and we have never actually seen in boxing history before a boxing match between two of the sport’s main promoters.
The novelty and car crash appeal of it for boxing fans to tune into is there to finance it, sure.
But White and Hearn are also big names in the US and UK, you have the rivalry between them and the two countries as well.
Especially in boxing.
Some years ago Dana White, while in advanced years even then, this is maybe around 15 years or so ago, found himself in a similar scenario.
When former UFC champion Tito Ortiz challenged White to a boxing match which at the time, White trained for it and even got ready for it at the time.
It was a big thing where you can still see it on YouTube in terms of White losing weight and getting ready for it and the Nevada Athletic Commission at the time even licensing it as a type of boxing match.
Keith Kizer was the Commissioner at the time if our memory serves correct.
Only for Tito Ortiz to not turn up to the weigh ins for their boxing match and pull out at the last minute citing some spurious injury or reason that was never accepted by fight fans at the time as being genuine for not going ahead with it.
But that was many alcoholic drinks and games of black jack for Dana White ago.
He’s much older now and much older than Hearn and lately you can tell Dana White isn’t himself at all and has been acting way differently the last month or so for some reason.
He’s constantly hungover in his interviews and surely is drinking alcohol much more to access than he normally does, for some reason.
Hearn as well used to be a very cool, calm customer, but not lately he isn’t.
In all his interviews lately his anger or fury is starting to erupt more as he clearly doesn’t like that the sport of boxing is doing so well but with many new players, companies, governments and more coming to it now and even more new ones this year that he can’t have control over.
The divide over the Muhammad Ali Act and so on is there but overall most support it, overall, if you look at it.
So there’s plenty of material to market such a fight and a turnaround time of maybe a few weeks, even two weeks, is enough time to promote it.
It possibly would do big numbers but it looks like Hearn is more serious than White about it, it remains to be seen if it will happen but for some strange reason, there actually is a lot of interest starting to form in it in the US.
Who knows what will happen.
