Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov Punch Stats

The Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov punch stats revealed after the Netflix mega heavyweight boxing match and event.

Netflix really rolled the dice on this one after the trouble Floyd Mayweather is putting them through at the moment with the Pacman rematch.

In terms of it being a proper fight, exhibition or not happening at all.

Fury somewhat delivered for them with his expected points win but ring rust was evident, Conor Benn also won on points over Regis Prograis in chief main support.

Some good scraps although Netflix might think they can get better value in their next event overall.

On the main event itself, a scrappy affair but Fury got the win — here’s five unique facts about the bout most people likely didn’t realize:

  • Makhmudov landed only 59 punches in the entire 12-round fight — fewer than Fury’s 77 punches landed just in rounds 10-12 alone.
  • Fury’s power punch accuracy of 46.2% was more than double Makhmudov’s 21.8%, driven by effective uppercuts and body shots at close range.
  • Through the first nine rounds, Fury led Makhmudov 42-15 in body punches, which visibly drained the Russian’s output and mobility in the championship rounds.
  • Two judges scored it a complete 120-108 shutout (no rounds for Makhmudov), making this one of Fury’s most dominant 12-round decisions in recent memory.
  • Makhmudov threw just 69 jabs and landed only 13, severely limiting his ability to control distance or set up his power, while Fury’s lateral movement and clinch work neutralized most threats.

Alas, Fury won but he said he wants Anthony Joshua next — both are on the slide so let’s see.

Here’s some of the reaction to Fury’s comeback victory this weekend.

Let’s see how he gets on this year, who knows what will happen Fury or Joshua next.
