Josh Kelly became the latest world champion from the UK last weekend with an excellent win over a tough former Russian world champion.
It turns out he and his team had actually signed to fight for the Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis fight however. Not many realize that.
His manager and trainer Adam Booth in the UK told Ring Magazine as much.
He added that no one thought Kelly would win last weekend so now that he has they will look at their options.
It is not clear if the fight can actually happen right away next up. But at the same time it isn’t ruled out that it can’t happen next either.
