Terence Crawford retired as pound for pound King of boxing and one of the all time great fighters in boxing and athletes in American history.
He beat Canelo Alvarez up at 168 pounds and then hung up the gloves after.
An outstanding career in the sport of boxing.
He got the 2025 Fighter of the Year award from the Ring last night and told them afterwards:
“Well, it’s not my first time being Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year. It’s not my first Ring award—the one that counts. I got this before, too. So, you know, I’m happy to have it again. It’s a blessing, and I feel great about it. Well, you know, either I got them or not. I’m respected, and everybody knows the legacy of Terence Crawford is real, and the things that I’ve accomplished in the sport of boxing are going to be hard to top. Well, I miss the competitiveness in boxing. You know, I’m a competitor. I like to compete in everything. I like to be the best in everything that I do. And I’m going to miss that. But at the same time, I’m going to appreciate not having to get up early in the morning and take my body through hell and just beat my body up so much to the point where I’m getting injuries and things like that. So, I’m not going to miss that. But at the same time, I’ll miss being competitive. Thank you. I appreciate it.”
Always candid and to the point from ‘Bud’ Crawford.
He achieved more than most in a legendary Hollywood story type life that is the envy of America now.
He must keep things smart moving forward.
Not everyone can be a part of his success and he must keep the doors closed always to defeated losers in life with silence.
Afterwards Crawford spoke about tonight’s big fight between Shakur Stevenson vs Teofimo Lopez.
