Fighter of the year and warrior of the year award are two different things for us this year and have appropriate different winners at the highest level of the entire sport of boxing.
That’s professional boxing of course.
Fighter of the year for us was Terence Crawford, what he did was superhuman, super natural. He made once again the impossible possible.
But outside of boxing there is fights that fighters fight as well from promoters, to weight cuts to many other things that come up like savage injuries and more due to the gruelling nature of professional fighting.
For us the 2025 Warrior of the Year was Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk.
What a warrior in all aspects a professional fighting man can be. Sure, he has discipline, and that’s important, but it nothing without ability, heart, determination and winning mentality which he displayed and improved on again in droves in 2025.
He got rid of an old manager this year and is now free to get even bigger fights than ever and bigger pay days than ever without him moving forward shortly.
2025 Boxing News and Views Warrior Of The Year Award
He travelled the world again battering everyone and again conquered the UK by knocking out ‘Dynamite’ Daniel Dubois at a huge Wembley stadium sell out show.
Defeating a young and in form Dubois in such emphatic KO fashion was outstanding and showed he is still getting much better as a fighter even now nearly in his 40s.
The man is a pure warrior.
The entire sport is lucky to have him and still will be here for a while, enjoy his fights while he is here. A fighting man the likes of which the world will never see again.
He is so smart it is crazy there is things he does in boxing training that no one, hardly anyone even picks up on, which we will leave for another day, that is internationally art of war caliber of fighting.
An original G as they would say in America, unique, something kind of different.
An old school boxer in the ring but a true warrior man in all aspects outside of it.
He wants to fight Deontay Wilder next so let’s see what happens.
Also here was our outstanding achievement of the year award.
