In recent years for the first time in a very long time there has been some good sized sellout professional boxing shows in Italy.
In a large country where soccer is traditionally, like Spain, the national sport, that is not easy to do. Soccer dominates everything in Italy so anything that tries to get air time in the news or on their TV (thankfully channel Rai is in decline and young people in Italy see through its garbage propaganda now) and nowadays more and more on streaming companies and online platforms to watch sport.
There has been Michael Magnesi who has done well and sold out some shows in Italy the last number of years but he’s not really that big world name that they need, that may or may not come along, but what is important is you can still bring big events there.
Matchroom of the UK have had some success in the last ten years here and there in Italy with shows where they have brought over some decent size names from the UK and Europe in boxing then put local Italian prospects on the card.
Let’s Make Italian Boxing Great Again
But as Italy is one of the countries in the Europe that has done well the last few years what you could do is bring actual world boxing stars there and put on proper events there that involved legit world championship boxers.
Conor McGregor has put on some good BKFC bareknuckle boxing events there with good success in places in Italy recently.
The English speaking is there for Western large digital streaming companies in boxing like DAZN, Paramount and others however to put on large proper events there should they want to, very possible, to get it going local Italian prospects and Italian fighters can be added for ticket sales but bringing the likes of an Usyk, the heavyweight champion, would definitely sell out any arena in Italy.
You could bring one of the new US boxing stars there as well even.
