Larry Holmes of course is a heavyweight boxing legend and a staple in the sport’s rich history of professional prize fighting.
Holmes to this day is considered maybe not only the heavyweight champion who had the best jab in the sport’s history, but maybe the best jab of any world champion in professional boxing history.
With that being taken into account, he never shone or reached the heights of Muhammad Ali and George Foreman.
You never really see Holmes getting invited either to the big events in boxing or functions for the IBA and what have you, like Lennox Lewis, Manny Pacquiao, Evander Holyfield, Roberto Duran, Lennox Lewis or others often appear at.
He has kind of faded away a bit lately in America and is largely irrelevant.

The reason why and the reason why he is not mentioned alongside other great American heavyweight champions like Muhammad Ali and George Foreman as he simply didn’t have the personality and character of them.
They were both larger than life, almost super heroes, fighting men the likes of this world have rarely seen, that transcended boxing and went way outside of professional sport to the masses.
Ali for his fighting heart and spirit and being a champion man of life — and Foreman for becoming the oldest heavyweight champion in history and his grills and entrepreneurial success.
