Heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk has been watching middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly of Kazakhstan get ready for Cuban champion Erislandy Lara.
They fight this weekend in a huge middleweight unification fight.
Usyk is obviously good friends with the man from Kazakhstan as in sparring this week from footage you can tell he is very serious about the punches he’s telling him to use in the fight this weekend with the dangerous Cuban.
Usyk Watches Middleweight Champion Janibek Alimkhanuly Spar For Lara
Speaking in a behind the scenes footage of sparring segment, Usyk said of what he saw then told Janibek Alimkhanuly directly:
“Janibek is seeing what’s coming and is reacting accordingly. Head, body and finish it with a lead hand. Either a straight or hook. Once he shells up go the body with a fourth. You can add a lead hook from there when getting out of range.”
Cutting edge insight there from the heavyweight world champion himself passing on what to do this weekend in a live title fight.
Lara is always tricky for anyone he fights.
But he’s 42 now and although a world champion, still 42, although, many are showing they can fight into their 40s now at the highest level.
Lara is in great form like his opponent this weekend though — terrific fight in San Antonio Texas this weekend.
Janibek Alimkhanuly is on the rise but he’s in a very dangerous fight this weekend.
