Why The Premier League Of Boxing (Professional World Championship Boxing) Is Many Levels Above Amateur And Olympic Boxing And Always Will Be

With respect to amateur boxing, grass roots boxing and the Olympics it will just never compete with world championship professional boxing at the end of the day.

There is a reason its called amateur boxing and professional boxing obviously.

Professional boxing is the paid ranks of the sport and this goes for any sport of course — not just boxing.

This maybe obvious to some but it is an important thing to point out to new fans starting to watch the sport for the first time and all the new fans that will be tuning
into boxing in the time ahead for the first time.

The Olympics is okay and it rolls around every four years but it only represents the highest level of the lower level of the sport, amateur boxing.

New fans must understand that and again, this is probably boring to hardcore and long term boxing fans but new fans want to understand the basics as well at first of how the sport actually works.

When it comes to the highest level of boxing, you are talking about world championship professional boxing where boxers compete foe one of the following four titles — to be clear:

  • The WBC
  • The WBO
  • The WBA
  • The IBF

After that, at the very highest level, is the pound for pound top ten in professional boxing.

A list and ranking that differs in places but essentially points out the best boxers on Earth today.

Regardless of weight class or titles.

Alas, boxing’s system is being changed now and is going to the next level as we speak.
