Why Andy Ruiz Still Has More Than Most At Heavyweight

Andy Ruiz Jr Mexico’s only heavyweight champion of the world, its first and still only one, will be back shortly.

He’s lost a pike of weight already per his Instagram in recent months and is flying in training.

He had done this before mind you, with the weight loss and put it back on, that doesn’t really matter.

He appears to be in a good place mentally and is training well, what the weight comes in at for his next bout, it comes in at.

The main thing is his repair in between training sessions is optimal, he is strong and quick and has the gas tank needed for the championship rounds.

People were quick to write him off a few years back. Some mentioned as well it is actually good for Ruiz Jr to be very overweight for his bouts and not have learn muscle mass tissue when competing.

Why Andy Ruiz Still Has More Than Most At Heavyweight

We are not sure about that though.

We always thought a slightly lighter, healthier and more powerful Andy Ruiz (more muscle vs fat) would be a more effective fighting machine.

Maybe the change at first shocked him a bit but he’s growing into fighting with the new frame now in his training.

The thing is, Andy Ruiz Jr still has more hand speed than the vast majority of heavyweights in the division.

Maybe not foot speed but his hand speed is lighting compared to many heavyweights — its one of his big advantages.

When he’s on form he’s one of the most entertaining heavyweights there is, regularly battering people bigger and stronger than him, through his outstanding boxing,
blistering fast hand speed and rapid combinations, and obviously he has the heart of a lion as well.

If he’s motivated and interested in boxing, and is now content with his training situation, he can absolutely be a contender again. No doubt about it.

As boxing comes back soon into a great time in new places like China maybe and more, Ruiz can and must be part of it.

Maybe he can shock the world one last time.

One more championship.
