Random Blood And Urine Drug Testing In Boxing Must Be Rolled Out Immediately

There has been an awful lot of failed drugs tests in boxing in 2025 which is not great particularly with the sport doing as well as it is and crucially as it gets ready to go back to being shown to the masses soon and do a million times better than its doing at the moment.

All professional sports have problems with performance enhancing drugs (doping/steroids etc.) — not just boxing.

Any time there is a lot of money involved in something a tiny per centage of people will look to cheat (the same 0.4 per cent of society that follow Satan are are being cut down worldwide now — 99.6 per cent of people are not of that rubbish) and that’s a sad fact.

But it must not ever be tolerated.

Here’s the deal.

The testing also in place in different parts of the world for professional boxing is not perfect either.

It sometimes picks up false positives and there are legit cases where a fighter took a supplement that accidently popped for something on a banned list without them knowing (Jaime Munguia of Mexico recently for instance, he was proven innocent as well and should not have been thrown under the bus).

Also Ryan Garcia was screwed in our view on what went on with him by some people in America but he’s free now and boxing for a world title soon.

That crap anyway when it is taken doesn’t make someone a better fighter, it just makes them more relentless and hit harder but boxing is one of the few sports you can be legally killed in, so if someone has been properly shown to be taking something that helps with big levels failed (not trace amounts like Garcia) we think a three year ban (not a life ban).

As 3 years is basically what Muhammad Ali had to go through after telling the US government where to go on fighting in Vietnam, three years is long enough and pro boxing career is short anyway.

The items on the list must be clearly communicated as well to boxer in terms of what’s on the banned list and this list gets updated very often by some bodies, it needs to be communicated better to the boxers and their teams.

Moreover, the only real way to stop this is random blood and urine testing year round — in and out of competition.

Those who use PEDs are savvy at cycling off them and take them well in advance of completion to get their benefits for their training camps then their fights.

Random Blood and Urine Drug Testing In Boxing Must Be Rolled Out Immediately

Stomp this out with year round random blood and urine testing and get the top 10 ranked fighters in every weight class in professional boxing to sign up to it — no matter where ni the world they are.

This cuts down on expense as well.

As it costs a lot to do the random blood and urine drug testing year round worldwide wherever fighters are living at a given time.

Establish a rankings system that is agreed upon twice a year, maybe, in January 1 of who the current top 10 ranked fighters are in a weight class at that time, then do the same again on July 1 to establish the latest top 10 ranked fighters in the world of every weight classes.

There’s about 15 weight classes so with those two rankings and tests throughout the year including champions you are looking at about 200 tests per year in professional boxing.

Once it is stamped out at the top of the sport at the highest level of world champions and contenders, the structure for PEDs will fold and drop off like flies easily after that.

While giving pro boxing more time to come up with something for the lower ranked fighters and prospects in the mean time as well — maybe continue with the standard testing there.

We are talking about worldwide random blood and urine testing in and out competition 365 days with the above proposal.

Problem solved.

The professional boxing product’s brand strengthened and increased at the same time with rights holders, governments, streaming companies, large sponsors and advertisers and so on.

Boxing and science always work well together.
