Brian Norman Jr is the reigning WBO welterweight champion of the world and has impressed everyone in the sport in recent years.

But he’s a very quiet man and a silent killer in the ring, his profile has not been that significant since winning the title.

That doesn’t matter.

Because he will be this weekend when he fights very well known Devin Haney who’s moving up to welterweight to fight him.

Haney is well known by the new generation of boxing fans in the US and around the world and Norman can get some of this audience from fighting him this weekend.

At the final press conference there was some pushing back and forth and so on.

Brian Norman’s father at once point nearly got into an altercation with both Devin Haney and his father and manager, Bill Haney.

The thing that impressed us at Boxing News and Views immensely was the composure, and cold, calculated steely non responsive demenour.

He didn’t bite at all and was focused the whole time.

Very professional.

Almost hitman-like.

Giving nothing away.

Haney on the other hand was emotional, erratic and jumping around at one point when engaging in verbal exchanges with Norman’s father.

It looked like Haney was wasting some energy and maybe something got under his skin slightly.
