A Cuban boxer here as a neutral objective fighter from neither the US or UK calls it as it is and is largely spot on with this summation here in boxing.
America is spoiled for choice when it comes to professional sports.
NBA, NFL, NHL, soccer, UFC and much more.
Boxing was on ESPN with Bob Arum’s Top Rank but they gave Arum the boot recently.
That said, they will be back for boxing and boxing is on fire at the moment with major new commercial companies and governments like DAZN, Paramount, Netflix, the BBC, Sky Sports and many more across the world joining.
Not to mention the official new State government investment in boxing by many new countries soon (not just Saudi Arabia).
That said, the fans of boxing in the UK are different to fans maybe anywhere else, they turn out in their droves.
Cuban Boxer Breaks It Down Perfectly On England vs America Boxing
Former world champion Cuban Yordenis Ugas said it well on the X platform earlier:
“English boxing and its fans are incredible. Over 100,000 people attended two fights featuring boxers who aren’t champions, and never have been. We need that same energy here in the United States. Packed stadiums and high-octane action are essential to continuing to attract fans to our sport.”
Not many picked up on it but he’s right above.
That has been done a few times by Canelo Alvarez though in recent years in Texas and also more recently in Las Vegas in the big Terence Crawford fight.
More will follow soon.
Some stadium shows have been done successfully in the US in recent years but more need to be done to keep up with the UK.
While the UK as a country is in oblivion and not doing good at all, professional boxing is clearly the last bright light for England and the UK as the country goes deep into the abyss of oblivion at the moment.
The UK government would be well advised to invest in grass roots and professional boxing more to keep up with new governments in the far East and middle East looking at coming to boxing shortly and bringing big shows there.
Following the success of Conor Benn vs Chris Eubank Jr’s event this weekend, here’s a look at five possible opponents next for Conor Benn.
